The Galaxy Pro, Samsung’s Blackberry-esque smartphone will appear as early as next month and will be available on the Three network in the UK. Presumably it will also be available elsewhere or SIM free but Samsung gave out no further information beyond that it will go on sale next month.
It features a full Qwerty keyboard and a 2.8-inch touchscreen with 320×240 resolution. It will have a pretty speedy 800MHz processor.
The phone will disappointingly come with Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. Samsung told The INQUIRER it has no information about whether the phone will get an upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Other specifications Samsung released today include 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and a basic 3MP camera. The phone will come with 512MB of memory, 2GB of storage and a microSD slot. Samsung claims battery life of 11 hours of talk time and up to 620 hours of standby, which is nearly 26 days.
The handset is 66.7×108.6×10.65mm in size and weighs 103.4g. The phone will include Samsung’s Social Hub Premium, Google Maps with Latitude, Thinkfree editior for viewing Microsoft documents and support for Adobe Flash 10.1.
